Passengers cars, motorcycles, and buses are examples of mobile sources.

There are various methods for controlling exhaust emissions, such as using renewable energy, increasing efficiency and reducing waste. By shifting to renewable energy like solar and wind, we can reduce the dependency on fossil fuels, which contribute significantly to the emission of harmful pollutants. Industries can reduce their carbon footprint by improving their efficiency through energy-efficient practices, and households can save electricity through the use of energy-efficient appliances. Reducing waste can also play a vital role in controlling emissions; this can be done by recycling and reusing products, and reducing over-consumption.
Exhaust outlets have different names and appearances depending on the source and the type of exhaust. For example, the exhaust outlet of a car engine is called an exhaust pipe (image below), while the outlet of a textile factory or power plant is a tall chimney. Other outlet names are flue gas stack, vent, and tailpipe. The appearance of the outlet or pipe is usually black, and in some cases, there can be visible smoke coming out of it.
Exhaust emissions are a significant contributor to the deterioration of the environment and human health. Therefore, it is essential to control the emission of hazardous gases. Methods like using renewable energy, increasing efficiency and reducing waste can help to reduce the emission of these gases.
